A Cargolux Boeing 747-8 freighter aircraft had taken off from Luxembourg when the crew stopped the climb after the landing gear would not retract. The flight took off on runway 24 and stopped the climb at FL140. The aircraft was planned to fly to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

The flight entered a hold to dump fuel before landing back on runway 24. The aircraft was registered as LX-VCG and is nearly 6 years old. The flight landed around 100 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 4 hours. It then departed again and reached Kuala Lumpur with a delay of about 5.5 hours. We have not received information regarding the cause of the incident.
