AvNav have revealed their latest upgrades to their navigation software at this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh – an annual air show held at the Wittman Regional Airport (OSH) in Wisconsin, United States. These new upgrades seek to simplify the process of route planning for flights and provide easily accessible aviation charts.
AvNav Upgrades
AvNav is an electronic flight bag (EFB) for pilots, displaying aviation charts and GPS data to help make flight management more efficient. The reduction of physical reference materials – such as operating manuals and navigational charts – and mental calculations allows for simplified planning for flight operations and reduces the chance of human error.
At this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh show, AvNav unveiled its new developments – including three-dimensional terrain and satellite imagery, ClearSky AI planning, live ATC transcription, Raspberry Pi hardware, and X-Plane sim integration.
These features will enable newfound ease in planning flight operations, with data on terrain, weather, and visibility readily accessible. ClearSky AI goes one step further by charting routes and detecting updated weather risks to suggest the best path, time slot, and alternates for requested flights up to 10 days in advance.

How to Access AvNav
AvNav currently covers the lower USA only, with international expansion in development.
AvNav is available on all devices, including mobile phones, laptops and tablets. The AvNav app can be downloaded on Apple or Android devices, or the web browser version can be used if preferred.
AvNav can be used offline in the cockpit. No internet is required once charts and maps have been downloaded, allowing for simple use and reduced distractions. Additionally, AvNav runs full screen, providing all required information regardless of which device is used.
AvNav costs $184.95 a year or $19.95 a month and offers a free 60-day trial to test out their systems; this can be accessed via AvNav.com.
