Nose Wheel Steering Fault for Virgin Atlantic A330

A Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330-200 was on final approach to Gatwick’s runway 08R when the crew initiated a go-around at about 1000 feet MSL due to a brakes 1 system fault followed by a nose wheel steering fault. Registration G-VWND, performing flight VS-34 (dep Aug 30th) from Antigua (Antigua) to London Gatwick, EN (UK), The aircraft climbed to FL070 and entered a hold while the crew prepared the aircraft for the next approach. The aircraft landed safely on Gatwick’s runway 08R about 35 minutes after the go-around and stopped on the runway.

The runway was closed for about 30 minutes until the aircraft was towed off the runway.
