Qatar Airways, was the world’s first airline to equip its fleet with Starlink Wi-Fi. As a result, the airline has become the major global airline to operate this ultra-fast Wi-Fi on the Boeing 787-9 widebody aircraft. Qatar Airways remains ahead of the curve, it is scheduled to complete the Starlink Wi-Fi rollout across its Boeing 787 fleet by the end of 2026 and demonstrate digital connectivity and digital transformation.

About the Starlink rollout on Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways’ most recent achievements add to its cutting-edge completion of the Boeing 777 project in nine months. This was followed by the completion of the Airbus A350 project in eight months. The airline now oversees the world’s largest Starlink Wi-Fi Boeing 777, Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 fleets.

By supporting Starlink Wi-Fi on a significant scale, Qatar Airways is seamlessly connecting the worlds of aviation and digital connectivity. In effect, this offers passengers a better experience and connectivity makes long flights more comfortable. Whether for leisure or work, ultra-fast Wi-Fi reaches speeds of up 500 Mbps which marks a new milestone in the history of aviation and connectivity.

About Starlink Wi-Fi

 Qatar Airways was one of the earliest airlines to offer Starlink Wi-Fi on its long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes. The connection onboard the airline is available for free.
Since the new connectivity was launched in October 2024, more than 23 million passengers have employed it to connect to the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky across over 86,000 flights on Qatar Airways.
