Etihad Airways has recently announced a new seasonal service between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Gothenburg (GOT). The service will begin on December 17 2026, and run four times a week until March 21 2027. This will create GOT’s first nonstop air link to the Middle East and Asia, achieving better air travel via Etihad’s AUH hub. As such, air travel will span Northern Europe and the Middle East.

The connectivity between AUH and GOT

For travellers from GOT, the evening arrival in AUH also opens Etihad’s onward network across East Asia. Onward services include Bali, Bangkok, Bengaluru, Colombo, Hanoi, Krabi, Phuket, Shanghai, Singapore and Taipei.

Etihad added Gothenburg as its 15th destination in 2026. The new route will be served by the Airbus A321LR. As the latest aircraft in Etihad’s fleet, the Airbus A321LR includes two First Class suites, 14 Business Class seats and 144 Economy Class seats. This allows Etihad to appeal to all types of customers with varying budget requirements especially on new routes between Northern Europe and the Middle East.

Under the new configuration, First and Business Class seats include beds that lie flat and aisle access. Meanwhile, Economy Class seats include ergonomic seats and 13.3-inch 4K touchscreen displays. Fast Wi-Fi is available across all cabin classes.
