Oman Air is setting a new standard in the world of premium travel with the launch of its innovative ‘Business Studio’. Now available on select flights, this compelling alternative to traditional First Class offers an elevated business class experience with the luxury of blended space, privacy and cutting-edge amenities. Passengers can also enjoy free onboard Wi-Fi as well as à la carte dining, upscaling each journey whilst keeping comfort and productivity within reach.
Business Travel Re-Imagined
The Business Studio is a private suite that introduces a radical re-imagination of business class with features typically found in First Class cabins. From lie-flat beds and adjustable privacy dividers at the touch of a button to direct aisle access, passengers are assured to be at ease, whether asleep or working. The studio includes a 23-inch personal monitor and noise-cancelling headphones for an immersive entertainment experience, along with a chilled minibar stocked with beverages and snacks.
The suite is designed to emulate a private boutique hotel, with extra tall, soft closing sliding doors with a canopy above each headrest to provide absolute privacy. Charging ports and laptop power are a convenient addition to each studio, along with a perfectly adjustable reading light for added comfort. The cabin’s distinctive interior reflects Omani design heritage, inspired by the traditional arch featured in Oman’s architectural landmarks like the Royal Opera House in Muscat. Each guest is provided with quilted duvets and pure cotton pyjamas along with Amouage bespoke amenity kits to ensure everyone is pampered with luxurious toiletry essentials.

A Strategic Shift
Oman Air is discontinuing its First Class cabin to centralise the launch of the Business Studio, a fascinating response to the changing market and its ever-evolving traveller. This shift strives to provide a premium experience at a more affordable cost, in line with broader industry changes. The CEO of Oman Air, Con Korfiatis, explains how the decision to retire First Class aligns with
‘valuable guest feedback and global market trends’
that are ultimately better suited to the needs of modern travellers, whether they be travelling for business or leisure. The Business Studio is equally part of wider national tourism goals to garner more MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibition) travellers.
The Future of Premium Travel
As airlines across the globe reevaluate their premium travel experiences, Oman Air’s Business Studio becomes a major competitor in the Middle East’s business class market. The airline has expanded its fleet to include a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, establishing its ongoing commitment to investing in state-of-the-art aircrafts to sky-rocket its travellers’ experience to unprecedented heights. Starting with London and Bangkok, the Business Studio will be featured on key routes including select flights within Australia. Bookings open on September 9, 2024 with upgrades available via the Oman Air website.
Lastly, Oman Air has collaborated with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to provide free stopovers in its capital city, Muscat. Premium class passengers are offered a complimentary stopover, while economy travellers can enjoy two nights for the price of one. Discounts on car hire, city tours and other services are also available—this offer is valid until 30 November 2024.
