A Lufthansa Airbus A330-300, registration D-AIKN performing flight LH-764 from Munich (Germany) to Mumbai (India) with 248 people on board, was en route at FL370 about 130nm northeast of Ankara (Turkey) when the crew decided to return to Munich due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft descended to FL360 for the return and landed safely back in Munich about 3 hours later.

A replacement A330-300 registration D-AIKB is estimated to reach Mumbai with a delay of about 7.5 hours.
