ITA Airways will be the first airline to provide micro-mobility services at a discounted price to its customers. The Italian national carrier and Helbiz announced the partnership on November 4, marking ITA’s first flight to New York City.

The partnership will enable ITA passengers to seamlessly access Helbiz vast fleet of e-vehicles, including e-scooters, e-bicycles, and e-mopeds in more than 35 cities worldwide. This partnership is a milestone in the industry, given that it is the first of its kind between an airline and a micro-mobility company. The deal is expected to be defined in all its details by the end of 2021.

ITA Chief Commercial Officer, Emiliana Limosani, stated for the occasion:

We are thrilled to celebrate our first flight to New York. We thank Helbiz for the wonderful welcome to the U.S. and look forward to working together across our series of partnerships that span several business areas

Helbiz

The micro-mobility company was launched in 2015 and is headquartered in New York City. Moreover, it is the first company in its sector to be listed on Nasdaq (HLBZ).  In addition, the company is expanding its areas of business, which span from live streaming services, food delivery, financial services, and more, all accessible within its mobile app.

Following the launch of its first kitchen in Milan, Helbiz is targeting the opening of its second catering service at ITA Airways headquarters in Rome Fiumicino. The vision of Helbiz kitchen in Rome is that of catering ITA employees with a 100% made in Italy culinary experience.
