There are now bigger restrictions in place for UK travellers entering Spain who aren’t vaccinated.

Spain has made it onto the green list this week as the UK prepares for the lift of restrictions this month. Although those who are vaccinated can travel without quarantining either side of the countries, unvaccinated travellers will have a harder time when trying to go abroad to Spain.

The green list has the most countries on it now than it ever has, which is a good sign for the aviation industry as it recovers from the impact of the pandemic. Ibiza, Menorca, and Malta are among the additions to the list in the hopes that the tourism sector can be rebuilt.

Unvaccinated UK travellers heading to Spain

Unlike vaccinated British travellers, those who are not vaccinated will have to take a coronavirus test before they travel and can only go abroad when it shows a negative result.

Before the new rule update, all unvaccinated travellers had to do before travelling was fill out a health control form. For now, the Spanish government want to protect those who visit and reside in the country as the numbers of coronavirus cases in the UK are on the rise.

From the 2nd July, Spain have started enforcing the new rules and expect evidence of a vaccination certificate or a negative test. However, as the UK add to their green list, countries like Malta have been adding the UK to their red list. Malta aren’t the only ones adding the UK to the ‘no travel’ zone, as countries around the world add restrictions to their travel.
