Emirates is set to bring Starlink Wi-Fi to its entire in-service fleet, starting with Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025 and completing the rollout by mid-2027. The free, ultra-fast connectivity promises ground-level internet performance at cruising altitude, reinforcing the airline’s reputation for industry-leading inflight technology.

Connectivity Across the Fleet

With Starlink, Emirates passengers will be able to stream, game, make calls, work, and browse social media simultaneously on both seat-back screens and personal devices. The service will be available across all cabin classes, providing a consistent, connected experience for travellers worldwide.

The rollout covers 232 aircraft, with the first installation already completed on Boeing 777-300ER A6-EPF, showcased at the Dubai Airshow where visitors could experience Starlink on the ground. Following the Airshow, A6-EPF will operate the first commercial passenger flight with Starlink, marking the start of a fleet-wide upgrade at a rate of roughly 14 aircraft per month. Installation on the Airbus A380 fleet will begin in February 2026, featuring an industry-first three antennae per aircraft, compared with two on each Boeing 777, to maximise coverage, capacity, and connectivity. Live TV via Starlink will also be available initially on personal devices and later on seat-back screens starting December 2025.

Elevating the Emirates Experience

Starlink is a key component of Emirates’ broader cabin modernisation programme, which includes Premium Economy, refreshed Business Class, upgraded First Class suites, and enhanced entertainment systems. The Wi-Fi service will remain complimentary for all passengers, accessible with a single click and without requiring Skywards membership.

Sir Tim Clark, Emirates President, described the partnership as a “defining moment” in the airline’s mission to deliver the world’s fastest inflight Wi-Fi and consistent service across its fleet. Chad Gibbs, VP of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, highlighted the ability for passengers to enjoy streaming, gaming, and video calls in the air just as they would on the ground.

This upgrade complements Emirates’ existing onboard offerings, including over 6,500 entertainment channels, the A380 Onboard Lounge, and First Class Shower Spa, and is part of the airline’s ambitious retrofit programme that has already refreshed 76 aircraft with new cabins and elevated finishes.
