Royal Air Maroc has officially expanded its international network by adding four new European destinations to its serviced routes. The announcement follows the airline’s previous commitment to position Casablanca, Morocco, as a global hub.

Morocco’s national carrier strengthens European presence

Royal Air Maroc is Morocco’s national carrier as well as its largest airline. Additionally, it has consistently remained one of Africa’s most prominent airlines since its foundation in 1957. The airline has steadily expanded its operations across its network, and this recent development further strengthens Royal Air Maroc’s presence as a prominent airline in Europe.

The four new destinations Royal Air Maroc will be offering its customers are: Bilbao and Alicante in Spain, Lille in Northern France, and Verona in Northern Italy. Passenger connectivity between Morocco and the rest of the world has long been a key priority for Royal Air Maroc, reinforced by this new endeavour to better connect Morocco with key locations in Western Europe.

The airline will be offering a direct service between Lille and Casablanca, one of Morocco’s largest and most important cities, which will run biweekly on Mondays and Fridays. This aims to serve the large Moroccan population residing in northern France and establish Casablanca as an aviation hub for connecting flights to destinations across the African continent in Royal Air Maroc’s African network. This includes locations such as Agadir, Dakhla, Abidjan, and Cotonou.

Royal Air Maroc’s cargo service benefits from expansion

Royal Air Maroc also has a dedicated cargo service which the airline hopes will benefit from its expanded European network. All four new destinations will be primarily serviced by Boeing 737 aircraft; they can carry up to three tonnes of cargo per flight and will further extend Royal Air Maroc’s freighter network out of its Casablanca base.

Vice president of Royal Air Maroc Cargo, Rita Chraibi, commented:

“As a key strategic gateway into Africa, our focus at Royal Air Maroc is on connecting high-potential regional markets in Europe, that can generate consistent point-to-point demand and feed cargo flows through Casablanca to destinations across Africa and other international markets in the Americas and Asia.”

The airline’s cargo service now reaches over 81 destinations across the globe. This has strengthened Casablanca as a hub for cargo transport and as a vital gateway into Africa from Europe.

Chraibi also stated:

“While there is keen competition among leisure-focused carriers operating to these destinations, Royal Air Maroc’s ability to also deliver exceptional cargo services for a broad range of commodities, is what sets us apart. These new routes support both import and export flows and increase the efficiency of our growing international network through improved frequencies, greater flexibility and more attractive transit times.”

Improved connectivity for Royal Air Maroc passengers

These additional European routes bring the total number of weekly flights being operated by the Moroccan airline between Europe and its global network to over 400, solidifying its position in the European market.

The expansion of the airline’s network follows a previous announcement made by Royal Air Maroc in December 2025. The airline committed to launching nine new direct routes across Europe, Africa and the Americas. This development of the airline’s network was part of its strategy to strengthen Morocco’s international connectivity.

All four of the new destinations launched in Europe were part of this announcement. Other destinations included Saint Petersburg in Russia, Los Angeles in the United States, Beirut in Lebanon, and Pointe-Noire in the Republic of Congo.
