Jet2 has announced four new Greek and Turkish routes for Summer, operating from Edinburgh Airport.

New Summer routes

British Low-Cost carrier Jet2 is expanding operations from its Edinburgh base, launching four new routes this week. The new Mediterranean destinations come just in time for summer, opening up more holiday opportunities for Scottish residents.

Jet2 says the start of its new services to famous Greek and Turkish destinations comes in response to strong demand from local customers and independent travel agents. Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2 and Jet2holidays, said:

“With 33 sun and city destinations on sale this summer from Edinburgh Airport, we are giving customers and independent travel agents huge choice when it comes to enjoying a holiday with our award-winning airline and tour operator.”

The new routes

Jet2 is offering four new summer holiday destinations from Edinburgh Airport, starting this week. The first of the new routes took off from the airport on 26 May, bound for the Greek island of Santorini. The airline’s inaugural flight to Skiathos departs today, with their first flights to Izmir and Preveza setting off on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

With the addition of Santorini, Skiathos, and Preveza for the Summer of 2022, Jet2 passengers at Edinburgh Airport now have the choice of nine Greek destinations: Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Kos, Preveza, Rhodes, Santorini, Skiathos, Halkidiki, and Zante. Besides Izmir, the airline also offers three other Turkish destinations: Antalya, Bodrum, and Dalaman.

The new routes will operate weekly, as follows:

  • Santorini – weekly Thursday services operating from 26 May to 27 October
  • Skiathos – weekly Friday services operating from 27th May to 30th September.
  • Preveza – weekly Sunday services operating from 29th May to 23rd October.
  • Izmir – weekly Saturday services operating from 28th May to 22nd October.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy says:

“We are delighted to see our first flight take off to Santorini today from Edinburgh Airport. It is fantastic to be operating to this popular sunshine destination from Edinburgh Airport, as we know that this new route will prove popular with customers and independent travel agents in the region.”
