Prospective holidaymakers will be thrilled to discover that popular airline Jet2 will be adding 45,000 seats for next year’s October half-term.
Increased travel opportunities
October 2023 will see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays take on an impressive 45,000 extra seats to accommodate the half-term buzz and a “strong and sustained demand”. Both companies have already prepared for expansion for the summer of 2023. Due to being the leading leisure airline and UK tour operator in Turkey and the Canary Islands, it made sense to also increase flights to locations in these areas for the October half.
The airline’s added capacity will mean that travellers will have more flight possibilities when travelling from airports all over the UK. Such airports include Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Birmingham, East Midlands, Bristol and Stansted. With over 50 additional weekly flights to Lanzarote, Tenerife, Antalya and more, fliers will have a greater selection of travel options.

Great news for families
The decision is particularly beneficial for travel agents and families wanting to fly during the half term through more flexible and cheaper deals. The CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy, also confirmed this in his statement “As families are looking for great value holidays, booking a half-term holiday for next year now allows them to get the prices locked in. While the size and scale of our summer 23 programme mean that we are already offering unrivalled choice, we are expanding this even further and giving customers and independent travel agents even more flexibility to enjoy a holiday.”
Heapy expressed his confidence in the company’s decision to increase flight numbers and believes it will be a massive success.
