Consolidating Regional Route Map: New Destination this Christmas

Starting 19 December 2025, the Hong Kong-based budget carrier will resume their Hanoi-Hong Kong daily direct flight. With continuously booming tourism in Vietnam, this daily direct route allows the airline to consolidate their presence in the regional market, as well as assist in providing seamless transit for long haul flights to other continents, including destinations such as: Melbourne, Sydney, and Vancouver.

Mr Li Dianchun, Executive Vice President of the group, says this is an opportunity for the airline to tap into an expanding market and echo wider political-economic initiatives from the government:

“Vietnam’s tourism market has seen rapid growth in recent years, leading to a significant increase in demand for air travel.  With the construction of Hanoi Airport’s new terminal and the implementation of several airport infrastructure projects, conditions for air transport have become increasingly favourable. Building on our successful experience operating the Da Nang route, we are even more confident in the potential of the Vietnamese market. We look forward to deepening our presence in Vietnam and offering passengers more convenient and efficient travel options.”

Hong Kong Airlines: Rapid Road Map Expansion in 2025

The airline has launched a few new routes to the Southern hemisphere this year, including a new direct route to Melbourne starting December 2025, flying three times per week.

The carrier has shown strong ambitions in increasing their influence in regional markets, and this new Hanoi – Hong Kong route definitely serves multiple purposes, including tapping into the booming Vietnamese tourist economy, and working as a middle point connecting travellers on long haul journeys to further destinations.

As Christmas remains peak travelling season for both global market and regional market, Hong Kong Airlines is prepared to tap into rising demands in the coming month.
