In preparation to celebrate their 75th anniversary in December 2027, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced 3 designers invited to reimagine their uniform across the business, where this new crew uniform weaves together the brand’s past, present, and future while weaving together functionality and elegance.

New Crew Uniform reflecting company DNA with functionality and elegance

According to the group, ANA’s new crew uniform not only continues to reflect the brand’s legacy but also, as their customer’s first point of contact, is designed to bring a smile and joy to the travellers around the world. Shinichi Inoue, the CEO of the All Nippon Airways group, has mentioned high hopes for this collaboration:

“Our objective is to create a design that is functional and appropriate for the nature of the work, that supports employee morale and will be globally recognized and admired by our customers. We have assembled a dedicated team to lead the uniform creation process and anticipate a productive partnership with all involved parties.”

This new uniform is divided into 3 categories, each with a chosen partner to curate the best designs that weave legacy, functionality, and elegance together.

For the flight crew, the new uniform design will be done by Naoki Takizawa of NAOKI TAKIZAWA DESIGN. Takizawa is famous for his ergonomic clothing design and is recognised widely for his creation of corporate uniforms and imperial costumes. He also previously worked with Issey Miyake and multiple institutions around the world, such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

For the hospitality staff (cabin attendants and ground staff), the new look will be designed by LVMH Prize awardee Satoshi Kuwata, who is renowned for his ‘bespoke tailoring,’ a design that takes into consideration the customer’s voice.

Finally, the uniform for functional departments (including engineers, ground handling staff, and cargo and catering staff) will be designed by Adidas, a global sportswear brand.

These new uniforms, according to ANA, will be worn starting in the second half of the 2027 fiscal year, in celebration of the group’s 75th anniversary of service.

ANA: Dedication to Aviation Perfection

ANA is always striving to provide a better flying experience, from increasing destination points to verified crew service standards, ranking 5th in Skytrax’s World Best Airlines Award.
