Qatar Airways has announced it will be reinstating two more of its daily flights, those from its hub at Hamad International Airport, Doha (DOH) to Bahrain (BAH) and Kozhikode in Kerala, India (CCJ). These routes are returning following the reinstatement of other Qatar Airways services to Dubai (DXB), Sharjah (SHJ) and Damascus (DAM), which have previously suffered disruption including alterations and cancellations at short notice.

Flights to Bahrain and Kerala Reinstated

Starting on May 1, 2026, flights will resume from Doha to Bahrain, Kozhikode and Damascus. While Qatar Airways is optimistic, having used the momentum to expand and restore its global network, the airline still urges customers to check the official Qatar Airways website and app, and to ensure that their contact details are up-to-date in case of any short-notice alterations or cancellations to their service. Since conflict began in Iran at the end of February 2026 following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on military and government targets, Middle Eastern carriers such as Qatar Airways and Emirates have struggled, not only due to the primary effects of bombing and evacuation orders on daily operations, but also due to a scarcity of aircraft fuel that has worsened as the conflict has continued.

Qatar Airways’ Advice to Customers

Qatar Airways advises customers that passengers with tickets issued no later than April 30, 2026, for travel booked on dates between Feb. 28 and Sept. 15, 2026 are entitled to either:

  • Complimentary date changes to a new travel date up to Oct. 31, 2026 when rebooking on flights operated by Qatar Airways, subject to availability and fare seasonality, or;
  • A refund of the unused ticket value.

If flights are impacted, Qatar Airways will offer customers:

  • Additional fee-free changes until Oct. 31, 2026, maintaining the same cabin originally booked, irrespective of fare seasonality, or;
  • A refund of the unused ticket value.

Qatar Airways maintains that flights may be subject to delays, alterations or cancellations beyond its control, and encourages customers to consult its FAQ page on the official website in the first instance.
