High-flying action meets Christmas spirit for 2023 in Air New Zealand‘s Christmas ad, The Great Christmas Chase, where one flight attendant takes the airline’s legendary Manaaki to new heights – all for the sake of the holiday fun.
According to Leanne Geraghty, Chief Customer and Sales Manager at Air New Zealand, the action-packed movie highlights the airline’s dedication to giving its clients life-changing experiences, particularly during the hectic Christmas season.
Leanne Geraghty states:
“On Christmas day alone, more than 30,000 customers will be flying with Air New Zealand, and we want to ensure each and every one of them has an incredible experience.
“We know that just like in our video, our entire team, GOES above and beyond to create exceptional moments of magic no matter what obstacles (or candy canes) come flying their way.”
The Great Christmas Chase – Christmas Spirit For 2023
The Great Christmas Chase follows a flight attendant on a journey through the airport to reconnect a family with a misplaced gift, with all the flare and excitement of a Hollywood movie.
Dashing through crowds, sliding down stairs, and just missing a collision with some errant candy canes, Air New Zealand’s gift guardian goes above and beyond to give nail-biting Christmas delight.
Shanti Tucker, an Air New Zealand flight attendant and the video’s main character, claims it was an incredible experience to channel an action star and stunt queen.
Shanti Tucker says:
“As an Air New Zealand flight attendant, our job includes caring for our customers and providing excellent service, but this year’s campaign brings a new meaning to that. While we might not be sliding through doors in the name of service, remember, the Air New Zealand team are always here to help.”
Shanti Tucker’s Top Tips For Stress and Stunt-Free Christmas Travel
- Santa’s secret: extra time – Be careful to allow additional time when booking connecting flights during this season. Airports can be busy, so you’ll need plenty of time to navigate the crowds and get to your next aircraft.
- Unwrap with ease – When you go through security, if you are travelling abroad, be ready to take off your jacket, shoes, belt, phone, wallet, liquids, and gadgets. To make this procedure a little bit easier, travel with simple slip-on shoes and a few clothes.
- Plan your sleigh path – Allow ample time to enter the airport and pass through security. Before you go, use the NZTA’s travel planner or Google Maps to check for traffic before you depart.
- Santa sack essentials – To ensure everything is needed put “everything you couldn’t go without” in a carry-on luggage. Also, ensure the carry-on bag doesn’t exceed the ticket allotment limit every time.
- Limit liquids – Remember the liquid rules for foreign travel: no more than 100mls for carry-on. If you have 20mls left in a 200ml tube of moisturiser, leave it at home or put it in a smaller container less than 100mls.
- Don’t make it rain – If you’re travelling with a drink bottle, please keep it with you rather than in the locker to avoid spillage and maybe falling on an unsuspecting passenger, especially those massive metal bottles, which can leave a horrible bump!
- Save the fruit for the Pav – Check your carry-on before exiting the plane to ensure you have disposed of any fresh fruits, and spend your hard-earned money on additional fantastic Christmas gifts rather than penalties!
- Be present to save sentimental cargo – If you are flying with special Christmas packages, please wait until your fellow passengers have placed their luggage in the overhead locker so that your valuable cargo and beautifully wrapped presents are not squished under a suitcase. Before leaving the plane, don’t forget to look through your seat pockets for any valuables.
- Get into the Christmas spirit – Our crew and airport staff are working hard to get you where you need to go for Christmas, giving up time with their families so that you can spend time with yours, so they always welcome a grin and appreciate it when you wish them a Merry Christmas as well.
- Yule be wise to get the Air NZ app – For up-to-date flight information, if you’re travelling, keep an eye on the Air New Zealand app.
