Burst Tyre on PAL A320

A PAL Philippine Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration RP-C8397 from Manila to Dumaguete (Philippines) with 115 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Dumaguete’s runway 27 at about 06:30L (22:30Z Aug 13th) but burst a number of left-hand main tyres during the rollout and became disabled on the runway.

The Department of Transport Philippines reported the aircraft experienced left-hand main tyre failures during rollout and became disabled on runway 09. A NOTAM was immediately issued.

On Sep 7th 2018 the CAA Philippines (CAAP) reported the aircraft blew two left main tyres on landing, the damage to the aircraft was unknown. The occurrence was rated as a serious incident and is being investigated.
