BOEING OUT OF IRAN President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal has put Boeing into the cross hairs of conflict as renewed US sanctions against Iran intensify.

In an effort to show support for and adhere to new policy, David Muilenberg, the chief executive of Boeing emphatically announced that the company, “will continue to follow the U.S. government’s lead.”

Having cancelled an estimated $20 billion-dollar order to supply new aircraft to Iran Air and Iran Aseman Airlines, a spokesperson at Boeing also stated that the company “no longer has a license to sell to Iran at this time, we will not be delivering any aircraft.”

The original memorandum of agreement, signed in 2017 between Boeing and Iran Aseman Airlines, called for thirty Boeing 737 MAX narrow-body jets, with options to buy thirty more. The new sanctions also eliminate the Iran Air agreement with Boeing for the building of fifty 737 passenger jets and thirty 777 wide-body aircraft.
