airBaltic appoints new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Erno Hildén at the Latvian airline after extensive interviews by the supervisory board.

About Erno Hildén
With over 25 years of aviation and finance experience globally, the Latvian airline appoints Finnish national Erno Hildén as the new Chief Executive Officer from December 2025.
Erno Hildén previously served as Executive Vice President and Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at SAS Scandinavian Airlines, alongside his previous senior roles at Saudi Arabian Airlines Group and Finnair.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board of airBaltic, Andrejs Martinovs announced the development of airBaltic’s leadership team:
“We are pleased to appoint Erno Hildén as the next CEO of airBaltic. His strong background in aviation and finance will add important expertise as the company continues to develop its business and prepares for the next phase of growth.”
In April 2025, previous CEO Martin Gauss was dismissed from his leadership role with airBaltic after losing confidence of major shareholder, the Latvian Government which meant COO Pauls Cālītis stepped up as an interim leader. Cālītis worked with the team until the supervisory board of the Latvian Airline appointed their new CEO Erno Hildén to begin his leadership in Dec. 2025.
