This year, Embraer Institute, the educational organisation created by Embraer, celebrates its 25th year being committed to education, and providing support and tuition to students that come from low socio-economic backgrounds.
Celebration of Embraer Institute, and Success in Numbers
Embraer Institute was formed in 2001 when the Brazilian aerospace corporation, Embraer, wanted to invest part of its capital in education, which led to the formation of the organisation, and subsequently, two high schools located in Botucatu and São José dos Campos, Brazil. The institute supports students from various backgrounds, and provides them with the opportunity and power to excel and succeed. The 25-year celebration honouring this success took place on March 31, 2026 in Brazil, drew a crowd of over 300 individuals with past and/or current ties to the Institution.
“The mission of changing the reality of low-income young people through programs of excellence has been at the heart of the Embraer Institute since its founding. This educational work generates solid and lasting results, preparing new generations to face their challenges with greater confidence and more opportunities,” said the Vice President of People, ESG, and Corporate Communications at Embraer, Andreza Alberto.
In the past 25 years, around 5,500 students have graduated from the Institute’s high schools, and the Institute receive upwards of 3,000 applications to study each year. The Institute awards students that come from low socio-economic backgrounds, around 80% of the students at the high schools, with scholarships, that cover tuition and necessary expenses. Consisting of 720 students, admission into the high schools is highly competitive, which is consistent with the success that has been observed in the schools’ alumni.
Embraer Student Prospects and Future Study
Around 80% of the schools’ students go on to receive offers from public universities, and a fraction of these students have been financially supported by the institute with the help of undergraduate scholarships.
“We have a solid educational model that also prepares students for active citizenship. Ultimately, we aim to educate individuals who can multiply the effects of their learning in society and become leaders for a more sustainable world,” Embraer Institute’s Director, André Tachard, said.
The celebration of Embraer Institute’s 25th year highlights the successes and goals of the organisation. According to Tachard, the Institute’s commitment to creating confident and successful individuals, that can positively impact society, is strengthened with the help of collaboration and educational programmes.
