Emirates announced on Feb. 13 a partnership with the Chinese carrier Loong Air, expanding its presence in China. Passengers will now be able to travel to more destinations in China through this interline agreement.

Emirates’ operations in China

In July 2025, Emirates added a daily service to Hangzhou, making it the second destination launched by the carrier in China in under a month. The operation to Hangzhou follows a new service to Shenzhen. These flights were then improved by the addition of Premium Economy class, as well as the use of the iconic A380 in Shanghai flights.

Emirates‘ deputy president and chief commercial officer, Adnan Kazim, expressed the carrier’s happiness with its operations in China. The country is a major player in the aviation market, so Emirates is pleased with being at the cornerstone of this evolution.

The airline has operated in China since 2004, currently flying to five Chinese cities: Beijing (with 49 weekly flights), Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

Emirates’ partnership with Loong Air

Emirates partnered with Loong Air to further extend its reach within China. The partnership has an immediate start and will allow the carrier to reach 22 territories in China where Loong Air operates. These points handled by Loong Air are operated through Hong Kong, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen.

In a statement, Emirates said:

“The partnership offers customers the simplicity of booking multi-airline itineraries with a single fare.”

The 22 cities are from several regions across China, ranging from Southwest, East, Central, Northeast and South China, connecting passengers with crucial domestic hubs, such as Xiangyang, Zhengzhou, and Haikou.
