TD Bank and Air Canada celebrate 10th anniversary of Aeroplan partnership

TD Bank (The Toronto-Dominion Bank) and Air Canada, have recently celebrated their 10-year collaboration of TD as the primary credit card issuer for Aeroplan; the airlines loyalty programme.

Aeroplan – Canada’s leading airline loyalty programme

Ever since the TD Aeroplan credit cards were first issued back in January 2014, more than 1 million Canadians have benefitted from the accelerated potential to earn Aeroplan points, as well as travel benefits with the airline and flexible redemption options.

Since the start of the partnership between TD and Air Canada, holders of the Aeroplan credit card have traveled to over 1800 destinations globally with Air Canada and with more than 45 of the airlines partners. Over 300 billion Aeroplan points have been earned by card holders and customers have redeemed more than 6 millions rewards from the scheme.

These points can be redeemed not only on long-haul flights for bigger and further destinations, but Air Canada also allows them to be redeemed on short-haul flights for as little as only 6,000 points. Furthermore, points can be also be used on things such as car rentals, hotels and everyday spending.

Meg McKee, the Senior Vice President, Canadian Card Payments, Loyalty & Personal Lending, stated:

“We’re thrilled to have achieved this significant milestone with Air Canada. Canadians have come to rely on TD Aeroplan credit cards as one of the fastest ways to earn rewards, and enjoy benefits to help them travel better. Whether it’s the ever popular free first checked bag, Maple Leaf Lounge TM access or Priority Airport Services that come with select cards, TD Aeroplan cardholders are enjoying a travel loyalty program experience that only teaming up with Canada’s flag carrier can bring.”
