British Airways has recently released ways for Executive Club Members to collect Avios when they spend money at London Heathrow’s World Duty-Free shops. This news arrives due to the recent collaboration between the airline and World Duty-Free’s most respected loyalty program: Red By Dufry.
How you can earn even more British Airways Avios
To start earning extra Avios, Executive Club Members must ensure they have signed up for the Red by Dufry loyalty programme and downloaded their app. When signing up, you can enter your Executive Club details on their app. Once you’ve signed up and linked your Executive Club account, you’re all set to go; one Avios can be earned per every £1/€1 spent in any of the World Duty-Free stores across all of Heathrow’s terminals with a limit of 5 transactions per day and a cap of 3,000 Avios earnt per transaction. Have a look at British Airways terms and conditions with their Dufry partnership here.
After spending, the Avios will be awarded to your account within 72 hours of each eligible purchase with a bonus of 250 Avios earned on the first transaction. Customers must demonstrate the QR code on their Red By Dufry app when shopping to earn their points. Any shoppers who own the BA American Express credit card can earn even more Avios points if they use it to spend on duty-free goods.
The airline’s Cheif Commercial Offer, Colm Lacy, stated:
“We know how much collecting Avios makes a difference to our customers’ travels, so we continue to find new ways to make collecting it easier than ever. With World Duty Free’s expansive presence at Heathrow, there’ll be plenty of opportunity for Members to collect Avios, bringing them one step closer to their next flight, holiday or experience.”
Lacy’s statement reigns true as British Airways has consistently continued to develop ways in which Executive Club members can collect and spend their Avios points and how earning Avios can be even more rewarding. Examples include the airline’s introduction of its first Avios-only flights as well as its announcement that customers can use their Avios to purchase British Airways Holiday packages.
