An Allegiant Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N220NV had performed flight G4-500 from Phoenix-Mesa, AZ to Cedar Rapids, IA (USA). They completed a seemingly uneventful flight with a safe landing on Cedar Rapids’ runway 09 maintaining routine communication throughout.

The aircraft however, is unable to depart for the return flight and is still on the ground in Cedar Rapids about 20 hours after landing…

A passenger waiting for the return flight G4-501 reported they were told the aircraft had sustained a bird strike on landing. The flight was postponed by 30 minutes several times. The flight was then cancelled and the passengers moved out of the airport’s security zone. They were told to either seek their way to another Allegiant Airport or wait for the replacement flight which is estimated to be 24-36 hours later.
