Labour unions representing easyJet France cabin crews issued a strike notice, signalling potential industrial action in the coming peak travel weeks. The notice, filed on Aug. 4, follows what unions describe as a year-long disagreement over continued deterioration in working conditions.
Strike action period announced
The SNPNC-FO, UNAC-CFE-CGC and UNPNC-CFDT unions announced the strike in a joint statement. Under the terms of notice, crew members can strike at any point between Aug. 7 and Sept. 2, a period that covers the peak summer travel season, with unions required to provide 48 hours’ warning before any key dates of action. Representatives have stated they remain open to discussions, and the notice could be lifted depending on easyJet‘s response.
In the statement, the unions outlined their reasons for the potential strike action, stating:
“For nearly a year, the unions have been warning easyJet management about the continuous deterioration of cabin crew working conditions: chronic schedule instability, last-minute changes, imposed trip patterns, particularly burdensome rotations, and a total lack of protective measures.”

“Given we have planned negotiations in September, we call on the unions to call off this counterproductive action at this important time of the year for our customers.”
