Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has launched a new global campaign, “The Starting Line”, aimed at positioning airport spaces as part of the wider sporting journey during a major summer of international tournaments. The initiative focuses on reframing airport lounges, hotels and passenger services as the first stage of travel for fans attending global sporting events. The campaign highlights increased cross-border travel linked to football tournaments, European championships and other international competitions, with PPG’s airport facilities serving passengers across multiple regions.

Airport lounges adapted for global sporting travel demand

As part of the campaign, Plaza Premium Lounges are introducing themed environments and services across selected global locations. In Brazil, lounges at São Paulo (GRU) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG) will feature fan-focused areas with live match screenings and sports-themed décor.

In Canada and selected airports across the Middle East and Africa, lounges will incorporate match-day styling, national team elements and limited-time food and beverage offerings. Some locations will also introduce interactive activities during key sporting fixtures.

In the United States, activations are planned at major airports including Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Orlando (MCO), where passengers will be able to take part in light entertainment and game-themed experiences during tournament periods.

Travel experience enhancements across global lounge network

PPG is also introducing themed food and beverage menus inspired by local match-day culture across different regions. Selected lounges will offer regional dishes and limited-time seasonal items aligned with the campaign.

In Europe, additional travel-focused amenities such as seasonal kits and passenger comfort items will be available for travellers heading to sporting events.

Plaza Premium Group said the campaign is designed to enhance the pre-flight experience for sports travellers and reflect growing demand for travel-linked event experiences across its global network.
