On Feb. 13, 2026, AirX – or AirX Charter – received authorisation from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) to conduct on-demand domestic operations. AirX has stated that this is under the Part 129 framework for foreign air transport operators, and a major milestone in its continued international growth.

AirX Charter

AirX Charter is a major European private jet operator based in Malta and with significant operations in the UK. It was founded in 2011 by John Matthews, and it manages a diverse fleet, including:

  • Citation X
  • Legacy 600
  • Challenger 850
  • Airbus A340
  • Lineage 1000
  • Boeing 737-700 (BBJ)

It specialises in luxury, bespoke, and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) charter services for high-net-worth individuals, sports teams, and even governments. The company also highlights its focus on safety, holding EASA AOCs (Air Operator Certificates) in both the UK and Malta. It is one of only five companies globally with the ARGUS Platinum rating – the highest level of safety accreditation for charter aircraft operators.

GACA approval

Saudi Arabia‘s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is the Saudi Arabian state entity responsible for regulating, managing, and developing the kingdom’s aviation sector. This includes overseeing over 21 airports, air traffic control, safety, and security.

The approval enables AirX to continue to grow and expand its private jet operations across the country’s aviation market, and it further strengthens its presence across Europe and the Middle East.

CEO of AirX, Houssam Hazzoury, commented:

“Saudi Arabia represents one of the most strategic and dynamic aviation markets globally. Receiving GACA approval marks a major milestone for AirX and enables us to deepen our operational presence within the Kingdom.”

The AirX team has stated that they are looking forward to supporting Saudi Arabia’s growing connectivity and Vision 2030 ambitions in the future.
