India and Nepal will enter into an air bubble agreement to resume daily flights between New Delhi and Kathmandu. As a result, passengers are able to easily resume travel for various reasons between both countries.
Flights Between Two Capitals
An air bubble agreement is a bilateral agreement between various countries to ease travel restrictions under imposed travel bans. Under the air bubble agreement, regularly scheduled flights between New Delhi and Kathmandu will resume.
Flights will operate between two major, economic capital cities of India and Nepal. Furthermore, Air India and Nepal Airlines are the national flag carriers of their respective countries.
The Embassy of India in Kathmandu announced this effect. This development comes after Foreign Secretary of India, Harsh Vardhan Shringla’s recent visit to Nepal. During his visit, the Foreign Secretay highlighted the importance of people-to-people connectivity in sync with the special relationship between the two countries.
Medical Protocols Adheres To COVID-19 Norms
The air bubble arrangement follows medical protocols that other countries are following. For example, passengers must complete the RT-PCR test 72 hours prior to travel.
