Budget carrier Wizz Air has been ranked at the bottom of UK airline satisfaction rankings in multiple surveys, such as the Civil Aviation Authority and Annual Airline Satisfaction survey. Passengers and consumer groups have highlighted several key issues behind Wizz Air’s poor reputation.

What Factors Make Wizz Air the UK’s Worst-Ranked Airline?
Figures show that Wizz Air departures from UK airports were an average of 31 minutes behind schedule in 2023, according to Civil Aviation Authority data. The airline has consistently been ranked worst for delays from 2022 to 2024.
In turn, this has resulted in many disgruntled customers who have voiced their complaints to the airline.
Jane Hawkes, consumer affairs expert reported to the BBC that the findings would,
“Likely come as zero surprise to passengers who have endured length delays on Wizz Air services.”

What feedback have customers given when traveling with Wizz Air?
Wizz Air has had very poor customer ratings ranked well below the industry average, with competitor airlines such as Ryan Air and British Airways being much more highly ranked.
Customers have specifically complained about the lack of contact support and issues in responce timings. Complaints state that multiple emails are being left unresponded to, and many customers have mentioned to be waiting on hold for extended periods of time, when trying to contact Wizz Air’s customer service.
There have been additional reports of poor boarding experiences, inefficient services and major problems with punctuality and cancellations. The Mirror described Wizz Air as the UK’s most unreliable airline.

What issues have resulted in Wizz Air having such a low reputation?
The airline has had significant operational disruptions, increased costs and subsequently, reduced capacity. These setbacks have forced the airline to scale back and hinder its growth in order to preserve costs.
