ITA Airways has revealed a bold new aircraft livery celebrating its role in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, turning one of its Airbus A320s into a flying tribute to Italy’s biggest sporting event. The special paint scheme was unveiled in early February, just days ahead of the Games’ opening ceremony on Feb. 6, reinforcing the airline’s status as Official Airline Sponsor.

A Flying Symbol of Italian Pride

The aircraft, an Airbus A320-216 registered EI-DSY, now features vibrant Olympic branding designed to reflect the energy and spirit of the Winter Games. ITA’s signature blue forms the foundation of the design, overlaid with sweeping graphics inspired by Alpine peaks, snow, ice and athletic motion.

Created by Italian illustrator Emiliano Ponzi, the livery transforms the jet into a visual celebration of Italy’s landscapes and winter sports heritage. While visually distinctive, the aircraft will continue operating scheduled short- and medium-haul flights, allowing passengers across Italy and Europe to encounter the Olympic spirit as part of everyday travel.

From Alitalia Legacy to Olympic Canvas

EI-DSY has a long history within Italian aviation. Originally delivered to Air One in 2009, the aircraft later joined Alitalia’s fleet in 2014 before transitioning to ITA Airways following the launch of the new national carrier in 2021.

Repainted earlier this week, the A320 now serves as a moving ambassador for the Milano Cortina Games. Its presence across ITA’s network brings Olympic imagery beyond host cities and into airports across the continent, blending national identity with modern airline branding.

More Than Just a Livery

ITA Airways’ Olympic partnership extends far beyond the aircraft exterior. As part of a wider campaign, the airline has introduced themed Business Class menus inspired by Alpine cuisine, using seasonal ingredients to reflect northern Italy’s culinary traditions.

On the ground, ITA has also launched SKYWAY, a temporary installation in Milan’s Piazza San Carlo, combining sport, aviation and design. These initiatives aim to immerse passengers and the public alike in the atmosphere of the Games.
