In-Flight Meals

According to a YouGov Survey conducted in March 2025, Emirates tops the charts for the UK’s favourite airline for in-flight meals.

The poll, carried out by YouGov Surveys: Self-serve, reveals UK passengers’ top and least-favourite airlines when it comes to flight food.

85% of those polled had a positive review of the airline’s meals, with 38% labelling the food ‘Very good’ and 47% rating it ‘Somewhat good’.

Qatar Airways comes in as the UK’s second-favourite, with a positive score of 82%.

Virgin Atlantic follows in third place, with an admirable score of 73% in positive reviews.

The bottom 3 see budget airlines easyJet, Wizz Air and Ryanair receiving mixed reviews. Ryanair comes in with the lowest score of positive reception, with just 17% of polled passengers rating the meals as at least ‘Somewhat good’.

Snacks and Drinks

A separate poll for snacks and drinks received similar ratings, with Emirates, Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic forming the top 3 airlines favoured by Britons ordering aboard an aircraft.

The order of favoured airlines remains the same in this category, with airlines British Airways, Jet2.com and TUI Airways coasting in the middle with scores comprised mostly of ‘Somewhat good’ and ‘Neither good nor bad’.

Ryanair sees the lowest score again, with 15% rating the airline’s choice of snacks and drinks as ‘Very bad’.

Air France is offering a Michelin-starred dining experience for their passengers, perfected by chefs including Jérôme Banctel and Josselin Marie. Signature dishes include polenta with wild mushrooms, spinach and mountain cheese, and maki-style seabass with champagne sauce.

Finnair has launched a menu of Nordic delights, including grilled chicken breast with pea purée, carrots and buttermilk sauce, and a Finnish cheese selection.

Topping the survey charts, Emirates’ in-flight menu features signature dishes like Bzar chicken with an Arabic spice marinade, aromatic rice, fried onions, and pistachios for first-class passengers. Economy travellers can enjoy options such as vegetable paella with braised lentils.

Airline Ryanair has also launched their “New Tasty Snack Range”, which includes crinkle fries, a three-cheese toastie and a folded margarita pizza – will these tasty new additions increase passenger satisfaction?
