5. Ripley’s Aquarium

Opened in 2013, the aquarium boasts and astounding 20,000 animals, including sharks, fish, turtles, and even stingrays! Housed in over 5.7 million liters of water, the aquarium is organized into 10 galleries; Canadian Waters, Rainbow Reef, Dangerous Lagoon, Discovery Centre, The Gallery, Ray Bay, Swarm: Nature by Numbers, Planet Jellies, Life Support Systems and the Shoreline Gallery. The aquarium is easily accessible, being right in the downtown core, minutes from subways, trains and buses.

4. Royal Ontario Museum

A bit older than the aquarium, this museum first opened in 1914, and has undergone many renovations! The museum includes everything from Art, to world culture, and even natural history! Comprising of over 6 million

artifacts in 40 galleries, the museum’s diverse collections of world culture and natural history contribute to its international reputation. The museum houses the largest collection of fossils from the Burgess Shale, with over 150 000 specimens! Definitely a must-do for any history buff!

3. Professional Sports

Toronto is home to many professional sports teams, playing various sports such as hockey, baseball, basketball, soccer and even football! During the spring, summer and fall months, you can catch a Toronto Blue Jays baseball game at Rogers Stadium, right in the heart of downtown Toronto. At BMO Field, during the summer months, the Toronto Argonauts football team is a huge attraction for sports fans of all ages! BMO Field is also the home of the Toronto FC Soccer Club, one of only 3 Major League Soccer teams in Canada! During the Winter, Hockey and Basketball are the two biggest sports in the city! Sharing the Scotiabank Center, the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team, and the Toronto Raptors basketball team, are two of the biggest names in their respective leagues. No matter when your visit, you can almost guarantee there will be a sports event for you to attend!

2. Eaton Center/Dundas Square

Sometimes called the Times Square of Canada, Dundas Square is the entertainment capital of Toronto, containing shops, restaurants, and live entertainment. Dundas Square is just minutes from downtown attractions

such as the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, and the Toronto Waterfront. Also in Dundas Square, the shopping complex, the Eaton Center! With over 200 stores and restaurants, the Eaton Center is Canada’s 3rd largest shopping mall, containing stores such as Hudson’s Bay, Nordstrom, H&M and Best Buy! There is no shortage of entertainment in this area!

1. CN Tower

Completed in 1976, the CN Tower is a 1 800ft tall communications and observation tower located right in the heart of downtown Toronto. The CN Tower got its name from the company who built the tower, Canadian National Railways. For 32 years, the CN Tower held the record for the World’s Tallest Free Standing Structure, until 2007 when it was overtaken by the Burj Khalifa and Canton Towers respectively. The CN Tower is an excellent attraction for the whole family, containing a restaurant, bar, lower and upper observation decks, and gives an amazing view of downtown Toronto!
