Muslims worldwide observe Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar. Emirates Airlines makes special accommodations for people fasting, from customised dining offerings to onboard activities and airport amenities.

Emirates provides special services to passengers’ fasting. Here are the details:

  1. Special Meal Boxes

Muslims who observe the fast refrain from eating, drinking, and other pleasures from sunrise to sunset. Emirates offers customised iftar meal boxes on flights. Passengers can comfortably break their fast while on a flight with the help of these meal packs, which contain dates, water, juices, and wholesome food items. The airline ensures that these meals are given at the correct moment, in conjunction with the local sunset timings of the flight route.

  1. Precise Fasting and Prayer Timings

It might be difficult for Muslim travellers to keep track of the precise hours for prayer and fasting while travelling between time zones. Emirates Airlines’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system provides real-time prayer timings to allay this worry. The system has a dedicated Ramadan channel that shows precise prayer times and notifies travellers when it’s time to break their fast depending on where the aircraft is.

  1. Prayer Spaces

Emirates understands the significance of prayer throughout the month of Ramadan. All of its planes include qibla direction indicators, which lead travellers to Mecca so they can offer prayers. On request, the airline also provides prayer mats. Every terminal at Emirates’ main hub has a separate prayer space. Travellers can pray before or after their flight in these prayer areas.

  1. Friendliness and Cultural Awareness

Airport employees and cabin crew are taught to be aware of fasting passengers and to offer assistance appropriately. The airline also adapts its service approach, ensuring that non-fasting travellers can enjoy their meals discreetly. Additionally, Emirates frequently celebrates Ramadan by introducing exclusive deals, discounts, and promotions for passengers during this time. The airline tries to commemorate the holy month with its customers, whether it’s by offering Ramadan-only in-flight entertainment or discounted tickets for Umrah pilgrims.
