On Friday, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) launched its new direct route from Copenhagen, Denmark to Nuuk, Greenland re-establishing a connection that was last flown over 20 years ago.
This new service is designed to enhance Greenland’s global connectivity and further establish Copenhagen as Scandinavia’s primary international hub.
Strengthening ties between Greenland and the world

Greenland was recently named one of National Geographic’s “Best of the World” destinations for 2025 and has emerged a top choice for travellers seeking immersive, nature-rich experiences.
For SAS, the route introduces a new, distinctive Arctic destination to its network and allows customers to have rare access to one of the world’s most natural and culturally rich regions.

The route will run three times a week throughout the summer season and has been developed in close collaboration with Greenlandic partners, including Air Greenland.
