Greenland was recently named one of National Geographic’s “Best of the World” destinations for 2025 and has emerged a top choice for travellers seeking immersive, nature-rich experiences.

For SAS, the route introduces a new, distinctive Arctic destination to its network and allows customers to have rare access to one of the world’s most natural and culturally rich regions.

The launch corresponds with the opening of Nuuk’s new international airport and is part of SAS’ broader strategy to build meaningful, long-term growth and connectivity across the North Atlantic and beyond.

Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS said:

“This route reflects our broader ambition: to be a resilient, adaptable, and collaborative airline for the future.

“Whether traveling for family, work, or discovery, our role is to enable purposeful journeys, with respect and responsibility. And as the most punctual airline in the world, we are proud to bring that reliability to a route as meaningful as this one.”

Strategic partnerships, including with SkyTeam and Air France-KLM, have expanded global connectivity, while continued investment in customer experience and operational excellence has further reinforced SAS’ position.

SAS prides itself on being one of the most punctual airlines in Europe and the world and is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 205o within it’s mission to connect Scandinavia with the world and the world with Scandinavia.

Each year, SAS serves more than 25 million passengers and transports 60,000 tons of cargo to 135 destinations across Europe, the USA, and Asia.

As SAS evolves into a  future-focused premium airline, Copenhagen’s role as a global hub is key, enhancing connectivity and supporting mobility, exchange, and growth across Scandinavia and beyond.
