Light Aircraft Crash in Georgia, USA.

Five family members were killed on Friday afternoon in a wooded area near the town of Eatonton, near Lake Oconee in Putnam County, Georgia. The aircraft crashed at 15h13 local time.http://

The aircraft, a Piper PA-31-T twin was en route from Williston, Florida to New Castle, Indiana, where the family was to attend a funeral. The pilot and owner was identified as Larry Ray Pruitt of Morriston, Florida. In addition, a family of four perished in the accident: Shawn Lamont, his wife Jody Rae, and children 6-year-old Jayce and 4-year-old Alice.

The flight left Williston at just after 2 pm and flew through a line of thunderstorms in Georgia, It is not known if these storms played any role in the accident. A phone video showed an aircraft apparently on fire and a loud bang can be heard.http://

The FAA has been notified of the incident.
