Feb. 27, 2026,  a new charter by the Global Aviation is said to launch offering all inclusive holidays between Réunion Island and Durban, South Africa. The aim of this is to improve tourism around these areas by providing a seven day holiday package.

Packaged airline route for destination travellers

The project, branded as FlyVetivAir, originates in Johannesburg and is part of a collaborative tourism scheme aimed at attracting holiday travellers. Instead of a single service, travellers will be able to enjoy both destinations fully as an all inclusive holiday package. After South Africa announced their new code sharing agreement last month, it opened doors for both regional and leisure destinations. With this charter in place, people can experience travelling regions of South Africa and the islands surrounding it.

The success of this project could offer a new interest in packaging culturally diverse destinations. Réunion Island, known for its breath-taking volcanic landscapes is the French overseas department in the region. As South Africa has become a key coastal getaway, this project has been designed perfectly for leisure travellers who want to explore naturally cultural destinations.

Partnerships back the project as a new age for tourism

Local Partners such as Durban Tourism and Engage Connection have high hopes that the project will act as a new Gateway into boosting interest in travel for these destinations. As packaged holidays are becoming a new norm, travellers are incentivised to use these methods of travel as they can utilise experiencing multiple destinations for a fixed price. If successful, the tours are set to be between February and March.

Six tours are supposed to leave supposed to leave between Feb. 27 and March 8, but whether the project goes underway is dependent on whether it gets final approval, if possible it could allow for future boosts in the KwaZulu-Natal economy.
