LATAM Airlines has received multiple awards during the 2025 edition of TheDesignAir Awards, an annual event organised by the aviation design platform, including ‘Design Airline of the Year – South America’, as well as ‘Most Improved Brand’ within aviation.

LATAM Takes Home Awards

LATAM Airlines has credited these achievements to the innovations it has made through its Signature Check-In at Lima Airport, its Lounges in Santiago and Lima, and its updated Premium Business cabin.

LATAM’s lounges are inspired by the airline’s Chilean identity, and its new and improved Premium Business cabins draw inspiration from the Pacific Ocean, the Amazon rainforest and the Andes. The patterns on the surfaces in each cabin are based on both the LATAM logo and works of modernist architect Oscar Niemeyer, creating a completely unique aesthetic.

Continuing the theme of Latin American identity, LATAM has introduced amenity kits which include cosmetics by Costa Brazil, a brand with sustainability at its core and inspiration drawn from the natural resources of the Amazon.

Celebrating Achievement at LATAM

Speaking about the recognition, Dominic Purvis, Product and Customer Experience Director at LATAM Airlines Group, said:

“LATAM Airlines is delighted to be recognised by TheDesignAir as South America’s ‘Design Airline of the Year’ and the ‘Most Improved Brand’, which together celebrate our achievement in becoming the leading airline on our continent. LATAM’s multi-year initiative to position itself as one of the top airlines in the Americas combines a relentless focus on delivering an authentically South American experience with a world‑class approach to design and hospitality. We are grateful to our customers for their trust and appreciation, which inspire us to continue elevating our travel experience.”

TheDesignAir is not the only body to recognise LATAM’s achievements in 2025; other awards the airline has received this year include a ‘Five-Star Global Airline’ rating by APEX for a fourth year in a row, as well as the prestigious ‘Best Airline in South America’ title granted at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.
