The airlines will operate three flights per week between Chennai and Réunion Island from April 29. They plan to use their Airbus A320 aircraft for this route.

IndiGo said that the flights to Réunion Island will attract Indian outbound travellers, including leisure tourists, honeymooners, adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said:

“Known for its diverse landscapes, pristine coastlines, and rich multicultural heritage, Réunion Island offers travellers a distinctive and immersive experience.”

Travellers can book their travel through IndiGo’s official website, mobile app, or authorised travel partners.

Chennai to Réunion Island flight schedule

The French overseas territory is located between Madagascar and Mauritius. It is known for its volcanic landscapes and UNESCO World Heritage-listed natural sites such as the Piton de la Fournaise.

Though it is a French-owned island, Indian nationals can enter and stay for 15 days without a visa. They can also stay up to 90 days every six months, but only 15 days at a time.

IndiGo has announced non-stop, thrice-weekly flights to Réunion Island from Chennai. Flights will run every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with a total flight time of six hours and 20 minutes.

The flights will depart from Chennai at 12:20 p.m. and land in Réunion by 5:10 p.m. local time. The return flight from Réunion leaves at 6:10 p.m. and arrives in Chennai at 2:10 a.m. the following day.

Bookings are now open for April, and ticket prices start from ₹21,155.
