Hong Kong In the Sky

Cathay Pacific is introducing a menu crafted by Yat Tung Heen, a Michelin-starred jewel at Eaton HK. Spearheaded by Head Chef Tam Tung, Yat Tung Heen has been a centrepiece of Hong Kong’s culinary scene since the 1990s. Renowned for traditional yet refined Cantonese dishes, the restaurant is set to infuse the skies with its sophistication and authentic flavours.

Cathay Pacific’s General Manager of Customer Experience and Design, Vivian Lo, underscores:

Our hope is to enrich every traveller’s journey by giving them a taste of our home city’s unique and iconic flavours, brought to life by the culinary craftsmanship of Cathay Pacific and Yat Tung Heen.

Authentic and Signature Flavours

The latest ‘Hong Kong Flavours’ menu celebrates the city’s distinct and vibrant gastronomic culture. For Economy class passengers, the journey begins with appetisers, from marinated cherry tomatoes with preserved plum, to heartier mains like the classic sweet and sour pork or chicken baked with aged mandarin peel.

Premium Economy travellers can indulge in a crispy halibut with supreme soy sauce, a choice between braised beef brisket in chu hou sauce or braised duck with taro in pickled plum sauce. All of which are of course paired with a quintessential steamed jasmine rice and choy sum.

Head Chef of Yat Tung Heen, Tam Tung, shared his excitement of blending traditional techniques with innovative flavours:

We have always strived to deliver a Michelin-worthy dining experience to our guests with the best possible ingredients. To see this legacy extend to the skies with an iconic airline such as Cathay Pacific is very exciting.

Eaton Workshop Managing Director, Harvey Thompson emphasises this:

{This collaboration} is testament to Chef Tam Tung’s talent and perseverance. Chef Tam has been a beloved figure in the Hong Kong culinary community for decades, celebrated for his dedication to simultaneously preserving and innovating Cantonese cuisine. It’s an honour to share Chef Tam’s creations with travellers from around the world, bringing them an authentic dining experience that reflects the essence of our city.
