British Airways has announced a new lounge concept at London Heathrow’s (LHR) Terminal 5. The redesigned space will offer airfield views and feature one of the world’s longest airport lounge bars. The airline is also investing in a new check-in experience for First Class customers at Heathrow Terminal 3, designed alongside American Airlines.

Updated Lounge Experience Across Heathrow
British Airways is redesigning its lounges across Heathrow (LHR) as part of its long-term transformation strategy. Each lounge at the airport is scheduled for refurbishment over the next couple of years.
The investment includes a new lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5’s C Gates, along with a new First class check-in desk and experience within Heathrow Terminal 3. These upgrades aim to improve overall customer experience.
Investments in Heathrow make up part of British Airways’ wider global focus, which includes work in Glasgow, Miami, Seattle and Washington. Additional work is underway at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to refresh lounges, along with Geneva Airport (GVA) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Terminal 3 Check-In
British Airways is working with American Airlines to introduce a new First Class check-in experience at Heathrow’s Terminal 3, scheduled to open this winter.
The new facility will feature a rich red colour scheme inspired by British Airways’ First Wing at Terminal 5 and the airline’s global lounge design themes, aimed at creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The airline’s First Class check-in area is designed to emphasise hospitality and meet customer needs from check-in through to arrival, hoping to provide a smoother journey for passengers.
