Hail Damages Air France 777-200

An Air France Boeing 777-200, registration F-GSPS performing flight AF-457 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), was climbing out of Sao Paulo’s runway 27R when the aircraft encountered hail prompting the crew to stop the climb at FL270, descend the aircraft to FL200, dump fuel and divert to Rio de Janeiro, RJ (Brazil), where the aircraft landed safely on Rio’s runway 11 about 75 minutes after departure.
