Las Vegas – On November 30th, a Frontier Airlines Airbus A320 was forced to return to the airport 15 minutes after the takeoff due to a detached cowl on one of its engines.

An Airbus A320-200 of Frontier Airlines registered N227FR was flying to Tampa, Florida from Las Vegas with 166 people on board when the crew reported a problem with one of the engines (CFM56). The crew noticed that the right engine hood was open.

Pilots of the flight F9-260 requested emergency landing for Las Vegas International Airport. The aircraft landed at runway 26L without further incident. Large engine debris was found on the runway 26R, from which the Airbus A320 took off.
