Atlantic Airways, the national airline of the Faroe Islands, has recently announced a new direct flight service set to be operated during the summer of 2024 with direct flights between London and the Faroe Islands.
Direct flights between London and Faroe Islands to smooth the journey of Travellers
The amazing destination of The Faroe Islands is known as an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark located between Iceland and Scotland and has a population of over 53000. It consists of 18 volcanic islands, and its unique scenery, distinctive house design, beautiful green valleys, and appreciable mountains have attracted many tourists in recent years. Atlantic Airways operated flights from London Stansted Airport to the Faroe Islands until 2014. With no direct flights from England to this fabulous destination, English travellers have no choice but to take two flights via Copenhagen or Edinburgh.
Fortunately, the improvement of flight operations for the summer season was recently revealed by Atlantic Airways, aiming to bring more accessible flights for travellers from England.

The direct flights from London Gatwick to Vagar Aiport are set to start in June 2024 until August 31st, 2024, with plans to operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with flight time for over two hours. The capital and the largest city, Torshavn, is accessible within a 45-minute drive from Vagar Airport, with 110,000 tourists annually; the upcoming flights aim to contribute to an even greater number of travellers this summer.

In addition to numerous tourist visits, the Faroe Islands are a distinctive setting presented in the films. The new “Peter Pan and Wendy” film was filmed on the fabulous Faroe Islands, represented as “Neverland,” – Peter Pan’s mythical home location. Another well-known classic film depicting Faroe Island Kalsoy is James Bond 007 film “No Time to Die”. Faroe Islands has an outstanding Atlantic Ocean scenery and marine life that merits being captured and displayed to the public.
Furthermore, the Faroe Islands are recognised for exporting 97% of fisheries, with fishing as the main income since the 19th century, contributing to the islands’ rich economy.
The journey to Faroe Island intends to be more comfortable and facilitated for London residents, with the opportunity to take the flight from London Gatwick and explore some of the breathtaking places on the Faroe Islands: Múlafossur Waterfall, Drangarnir Sea-Arch, outstanding Lake Sorvagsvatn or cozy Saksun village, among others.
