Eye-catching Colours

In February 2024, Etihad announced its partnership with the Chennai Super Kings, with Etihad operating 181 flights to 11 Indian cities weekly. This livery is set to feature the colours of the uniform of the Chennai Super Kings, in bold yellows and blues, with the team’s emblematic lion found covering the aircraft. The Airbus A320neo has been chosen to carry this paint job, and is an aircraft that is 20% more fuel efficient than its previous generations.

The inaugural flight of this livery will take place in December 2024, from the UAE to CSK’s home base in Chennai, India. This livery will then after be serving short-haul flights to and from India. Recently, Etihad celebrated 20 years of flying to India with a red-carpet  event in Mumbai. This event was attended by numerous Bollywood celebrities, including Katrina Kaif, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi to name a few. Evidently, Etihad Airways and has become intertwined with large parts of Indian culture and aids in connecting Indian citizens to the world.  Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, Arik De, commented this:

“We are delighted to once again demonstrate our commitment to the Indian market and celebrate our partnership with CSK with this stunning new livery in the bold yellow and blue colours of the Chennai Super Kings. We are incredibly proud of our partnership with CSK and the joy that cricket brings to so many people around the world.”

Other Liveries

As well as this new Chennai Super King’s themed livery, Etihad has many other themed aircrafts. These include partnerships with Manchester City FC, with its signature light blue on the aircraft. These liveries are able to come to fruition thanks to Etihad’s ever growing repertoire of destinations and flights. Just this week, Etihad announced a groundbreaking 10 new destinations in one day, highlighting its rapid growth and success in the aviation sphere.
