Emirates has introduced several measures designed to give customers more flexibility when booking and managing flights, including free date changes, reduced refund fees and expanded travel insurance options.

Free changes and refunds for Dubai flights
From August 10, 2026, customers travelling to Dubai can change their travel dates unlimited number of times free of charge, depending on their fare type. The policy applies across selected Economy and Business Class fares, while higher-tier flexible fares remain fully flexible.
Emirates has also reduced refund fees for flights to Dubai. Economy Saver fares now carry a US$50 refund fee, while Flex fares have a US$25 fee. In Business Class, the fees are US$50 for Special and Saver fares and US$25 for Flex fares.
Customers travelling elsewhere across the Emirates network can also receive one free date change on tickets booked from April 2, 2026. Travellers can additionally hold a fare for 24 hours at no charge while finalising their plans.

Travel insurance and Skywards benefits
Emirates‘ Comprehensive Travel Cover protects against scenarios including trip cancellation, baggage delays and loss, medical expenses and emergency evacuation. The policy also includes conflict-related cover, with up to US$25,000 in medical expense reimbursement and a free trip extension of up to 30 days.
The airline also says it will assist customers affected by flight disruptions, including providing accommodation where required and rebooking passengers at no additional cost when onward connections are affected.
Meanwhile, Emirates Skywards members can benefit from 20% fewer Tier Miles required to reach Silver, Gold, and Platinum status, along with a 20% bonus in Tier Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights until Aug. 31, 2026.
