Delta Air Lines will launch new routes from Los Angeles to Monterey and Philadelphia, expanding its route network at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The airline will also increase the frequency of several domestic routes as part of its largest ever flight schedule at the airport.
Starting on Dec. 19, 2026, Delta Air Lines will launch twice-daily nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Monterey Regional Airport (MRY). This route will be operated by Delta Connection using an Embraer 175 aircraft.
Another new route will be launched on June 7, 2027, connecting Los Angeles with Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). This route will use an Airbus A321neo aircraft and operate daily.
In addition, Delta Air Lines will increase the frequency of flights from Los Angeles to Raleigh-Durham, Boston, San Diego, Cincinnati, Houston, San Antonio and Seattle in 2027. The Los Angeles-Seattle route will receive up to eight daily flights starting July 11, while the Boston and San Diego routes will each increase to five daily flights.
Delta Air Lines’ vice president of network planning, Amy Martin, said:
“We’re continuing to invest in more ways for customers to experience everything California has to offer.”
Delta Air Lines Plans Its Largest-Ever LAX Schedule
During the summer peak season in 2027, Delta Air Lines and its partners will operate more than 200 daily departures from (LAX) to nearly 70 destinations. Delta also stated that it serves all of the airport’s top 10 markets with multiple daily flights.
In addition, Delta Air Lines is expanding its international route network from Los Angeles. Delta currently offers service to 25 international destinations from LAX and has recently added services to Hong Kong and Shanghai, while announcing further services to Vancouver and Manila. Its South Pacific route network also includes Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.
While continuing to expand its route network, Delta Air Lines is investing in facilities at LAX. The company’s $2.3 billion Sky Way project connected Terminals 2 and 3, and another Delta Sky Club is expected to open in Terminal 2 in 2027. By 2028, Delta Air Lines plans to have four dedicated Delta lounge spaces at LAX, with a total seating capacity of over 1,000.
