Route Resume as Tension Eases

The airline company announced that the Shanghai-Delhi route will resume on 9 November, connecting two major cities in the two countries.

The flight has 3 weekly departures on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Tickets for the route are now available for sale on the airline’s website.

The route, according to the airline company, will be operated on an Airbus A330-200 widebody aircraft.

Re-connecting China and India after 5 years

China Eastern Airlines is not the first to reconnect the two countries. Earlier in September, India’s budget airline IndiGo also announced the resumption of its Kolkata-Guangzhou flights, as the Indian authorities’ action to ease the tension between China and India, 5 years after the fatal border troop clash.

As civil aviation resumes, the two countries are seeing a warmer bilateral relationship as China Eastern Airlines connects again a key corridor between two hubs across China and India.
