On-Time Performance of Indian metro airports:

On-Time Performance (OTP) is a parameter given to the airports based on how reliable they are in handling the flights according to their scheduled times.

OTP represents the percentage of flights that depart and/or arrive within 15 minutes of their scheduled time (industry standard used by IATA and ACI).

OTP of an airport replicate the airport’s efficiency, punctuality, air traffic management quality and passenger experience. It is decided by dividing the number of on-time flights by total number of flights and multiply that to the 100.

Based on the above parameters, DGCA announced that MAA has the highest OTP percentage among the Indian metro airports.

Bangalore, which has topped the list for most months of the year is dropped to third on October, 2025 OTP list.
