British Airways announced new additions to its short-haul network: Tivat in Montenegro and Guernsey in the Channel Islands. The airline says the routes, part of its broader British Airways new routes 2026 strategy, will boost connectivity from London Heathrow as the growing demand for summer travel continues to rise.

British Airways’ Short-Haul Expansion

Seasonal flights to Tivat will begin on 14 May 2026 from London Heathrow Terminal 3, operating three times a week. The destination has seen a steady tourism boom, with Montenegro recording 2.6 million visitors in 2024.

British Airways will also launch a year-round service to Guernsey starting 19 April 2026, marking the only direct Heathrow–Guernsey link.

The daily flight is timed to offer smooth connections to more than 20 cities across Europe and North America.

Neil Chernoff, the airline’s chief planning and strategy officer, said the additions bring the Heathrow short-haul network to nearly 100 destinations, adding that customer demand had been strong for both locations.

British Airways’ Broader Network Growth

The new routes come as British Airways continues to expand its footprint on both sides of the Atlantic to boost connectivity.

St. Louis is scheduled to join the long-haul network next summer, while Rimini, Salerno and Tbilisi were added to the schedule in 2025 as part of the airline’s push into fast-growing leisure markets.

It marks a broader trend across the industry as carriers compete to reach destinations that are drawing strong year-round demand.

Economy and Club Europe fares for the two routes start at £172 return to Tivat and £101 return to Guernsey.

The additions round out a period of steady expansion for British Airways, offering travelers more non-stop options from Heathrow ahead of the 2026 summer season.
